Tips for Submitting Photos for Art Rendering
The photo you submit determines the quality of your finished artwork. Here are five tips that will assist you in taking the best photographs:
- Fill the frame with your child or pet. Take extra close-ups of the face for detail. Take a couple photographs without the flash but plenty of light, so that Diana can see the subject's eye color (a flash usually gives a red-eye effect).

- Take the photographs at your subject's level or put the subject on a chair or table. Having someone else help you pose your subject while you take the photos may result in a more natural pose and look.

- Outdoor lighting in open shade is best, but flash is acceptable and sometimes opens up the shadows in the eyes, so try both ways - with and without flash. The clearer the photograph, and more accurate the colors are, the better. Send the extra photos to give Diana more detail and color, but be sure to indicate the photograph to use for your art rendering.

- With most pets (especially dogs), owners use "buz words" that gain their attention. Once you have your pet posed where and how you want it and you are ready to take the picture, say the buz word for an attentive look your way - right at the camera. Some of my "buz words" are "treat?", "go", "ride", "walk"& each pet has a special word that makes him or her take notice. In the case of a dog, you also can try a muffled bark or whine or cat noise& guaranteed to make a dog sit up and take notice. Squeaky toys also make dogs "listen up" - but hide the squeaky toy, so your pet doesn't jump down to get it. You know your own pet best, so you should be able to get that special picture.

- If you use a photograph created by a professional photographer, Diana will need a copyright release from that photographer. She is unable to create your artwork using such photographs without this release. Copyright law prohibits it.
Diana can use almost any photograph to create a fine hand painted image, but the better the photograph(s) you send her, the better the end result. Diana's greatest desire is that you're pleased when you receive your Hand Painted* Treasure. The "WOW-factor" depends on the quality of the photos you send.

* Hand painting on a computer uses the same kind and amount of brush strokes and artist talents/ability as painting directly on a canvas. Diana replaces the brush with a digital tablet and stylus (a digital pen with needles); she replaces the easel and canvas with a computer. Your finished product is hand painted original art.
